About the restaurant
This handsome 17C mansion was where Charles Gounod played the first bars of his opera, Mireille, to Frédéric Mistral, author of the poem that inspired the libretto. In a flavoursome echo of this prestigious past, the venue’s modern-day chef orchestrates a gourmet score, inspired in this case by the regional pantry: fish from Grau-du-Roi, trout from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Mont Ventoux pork and lamb from la Crau… The menu, packed in Provençal melodies, is served at a communal table d’hôtes against a backdrop of bare stone walls that set a friendly, cosy tone. The rooftop terrace, which commands views over the village’s skyline, unveils a more casual culinary lineup.
